EnviroPod200Stormwater Pit

The EnviroPod200™ is the leading stormwater gully pit basket in Australia.

Easy installation and operation, the EnviroPod200™ is ideal for use as pre-treatment to remove gross pollutants, debris, and associated nutrients and pollutants.

EnviroPod200™ is available in several standard sizes, designed to fit pits ranging from 450 x 450mm up to 1200 x 1200mm with a basket depth of 400mm. Custom designs are also available.

The EnviroPod200™ model is only available in Australia and is available nationwide from Reece Civil and Plumbing Stores, or contact us for MUSIC modelling.

Features & Benefits

The EnviroPod200™ removes gross pollutants, sediment and associated pollutants. Improvements to the original EnviroPod™ gully pit insert technology have resulted in a device with easier installation and maintenance, and the product is more robust with an eight-year static parts warranty.

Using an EnviroPod200™ as a pre-treatment device for use in a treatment train with hydrodynamic separators, filtration devices, ponds and wetlands can result in reduced maintenance required downstream. In many cases, it is often the most practical solution for retrofits as it requires no alterations to the drainage network. Independently trialled and tested by city councils throughout Australia and New Zealand, the EnviroPod200™ is the most specified and installed pit insert in Australasia.

200 Micron Liner

The EnviroPod200™ is installed with a 200 micron liner for complete capture of gross pollutants ≥ 200 micron

How does it work?

Placed inside the stormwater drain gully pit, the EnviroPod200™ captures and retains any sediment and gross pollutants caught up in the stormwater runoff. Stormwater flow enters the gully pit through a grate, kerb entry or both, and enters the patented basket and through the filter liner. The filter liner captures pollutants and allows the water to pass through to the outlet pipe.  Once the filterbag is full, it can be lifted out and emptied by hand or contents can be removed by a vacuum inductor truck. If the filterbag is full or during high flows, overflow is released through the overflow apertures in the frame assembly.

Design and operation

The EnviroPod200™ consists of a Support System, Plastic Seals, Flow Diverter, Energy Dissipator, Basket, and an Adjustable overflow Bypass. Components comprise of inert engineered plastics. Support system brackets fix the unit to the gully pit wall below the stormwater drain grate allowing the filter bag to be easily lifted out for hand maintenance. Modular plastic deflector seals attach to the filter box and guide the flow of water to the filter bag. Openings in the filter box allow water to bypass the filter bag during high flow conditions to prevent surface flooding. Once the filter bag has been removed for maintenance, open access to the base of the gully pit and outlet pipe means any accumulated sediment in the pit can easily be removed by inductor truck if required.

The EnviroPod200™ is available in several standard sizes, designed to fit pits ranging from 450 x 450mm up to 1200 x 1200mm. Custom designs are also available for larger pits. The EnviroPod200 can be installed in kerb entry, grated drain, and field gully pits. The basket depth is 400mm.

All treatment devices require maintenance to remove trapped contaminants and to minimise bypass. Due to the variable nature of stormwater pollution and localised site pollutant loadings, maintenance frequencies vary for different sites and different rainfall characteristics. To ensure that each EnviroPod200™ achieves optimal performance, the unit should be maintained every 6-12 months; however, it is dependent on the catchments’ pollutant loading. Maintenance is a simple process that requires no confined space entry. Maintenance can be quickly undertaken using a vacuum truck or it can be maintained manually by hand.

The innovative design of the EnviroPod200™ allows for installation across a wide range of grate inlets. No two gully pits are the same which makes other gully pits inserts difficult or expensive to install. The EnviroPod200™ has standard sizes and flexibility using simple-to-use seal kits allows for professional and high-performance installations.

The EnviroPod200™ can be installed easily within a range of round stormwater infrastructure. We use a bracket that is as easy to install as the EnviroPod200™ itself. The round seal kits can then be used to finish off the installation that looks professional and provides an optimal flow of water into the system.
