LittaTrapCatch Basin Insert

The Enviropod LittaTrap™ Inlet Filter is the ideal catch basin insert for managing stormwater and meeting trash capture regulations. Engineered to be robust and reliable, it has been designed to fit a range of catch basin structures, and can also be customized to meet site-specific pollutant removal requirements.

This modular catch basin filter is highly engineered and offers an 8-year warranty, ensuring long-term performance and reliability.

Features

The patented design reduces the energy of inflowing water for the full capture of gross solids. The novel design maintains catch basin hydraulic conductivity and allows easy maintenance of the basket when full and also in the sump below.

- Storage of captured dry gross solids
- High capacity pollutant storage
- Superior pollutant removal with high hydraulic efficiency
- Design flexibility
- Installing a LittaTrap can reduce the risk of stormwater infrastructure blocking further   downstream or act as pre-treatment for   other treatment devices.

Simple & easy maintenance

The LittaTrap has  improved H & S with the inclusion of four lifting handles on the basket - designed for safety. The lightweight basket is designed to be lifted by hand.

Independently tested

Independently trialled and tested by city councils throughout Australia and New Zealand and with the installation of over 50,000 units worldwide including North America, the Enviropod LittaTrap is the most specified and installed pit insert in Australasia.

(Independently tested by Auckland University, NZTA, Auckland Council, Tauranga City Council, University of South Australia.)

Easy to install & retrofit

Simple step-by-step install.
The new support bracket uses a cantilever mechanism to enable the system to be mounted from one gully pit wall; halving installation time.

Target site-specific pollutants

Using passive screening , the LittaTrap can be customised to meet site-specific requirements with interchangeable performance liners ranging from 100 to 1000+ micron pore size

Grate Inlet

The innovative design of the LittaTrap allows for installation across a wide range of grate inlets. No two catch basins are the same which makes other catch basin inserts difficult or expensive to install. The LittaTrap has standard sizes and flexibility using simple to use seal kits allows for professional and high performance installations.

The LittaTrap can be installed easily within a range of round stormwater infrastructure. We use a bracket which is as easy to install as the LittaTrap itself. The round seal kits can then be used to finish off the install that looks professional and provides optimal flow of water into the system

Technical Documentation

Measuring a catch basin to install a LittaTrap

Before installing a LittaTrap, the catch basin needs to be assessed and measured to gauge suitability. Follow the step-by-step guide to ensure the catch basin is measured accurately..

Installation

Traffic control must be well planned when installing or inspecting a LittaTrap. All standard rules and regulations governing Traffic Control and Health & Safety while working on the road must be followed at all times. All potential hazards must be identified and control methods put in place prior to undertaking any activity.

Step-by-Step Guide

Ensure to follow the instructions when installing a LittaTrap.

Easy Maintenance

The LittaTrap is designed to be emptied by hand so it can be easily cleaned by site owners or maintenance crew without the need for vacuum inductor trucks ( unless this is how you chose to maintain) or heavy lifting equipment. As most catch basins can be accessed from ground level, there is no requirement for confined space entry, reducing maintenance costs.

LittaTrap filters should be inspected periodically to determine maintenance frequency. The frequency of maintenance services should be reviewed at the completion of each clean and modified if pollutant loadings deem this necessary. At the required maintenance interval the contaminants need to be removed from the filterbags and disposed of appropriately. The maintenance crew is responsible for the disposal of debris in accordance with all applicable regulations and is responsible for following all Health and Safety requirements.
