We’re excited to share a firsthand account directly from the City of Temecula, showcasing how they’re tackling the Trash Amendment mandate with the help of EnviroPod™ technology. The City recently completed Phase II of their rollout, installing 134 LittaTrap™ devices across catch basins citywide.
Below is their official update — highlighting the speed, ease of installation, and commitment to protecting local waterways.
Bonus highlight: While visiting Temecula, we even had the unexpected pleasure of meeting Dean Norris from Breaking Bad at his local restaurant, the Swing Inn Cafe!
Phase II Takes Off: LittaTraps Protecting Our Stormwater, One Basin at a Time
'We rolled out Phase II of our Statewide Trash Amendment mandate, with EnviroPod LittaTrap devices being installed at 134 catch basins across the city!
Temecula is required to comply with the NPDES* MS4** Permit issued by the San Diego Water Board under the Statewide Trash Amendment (Order No. R9-2017-0077). This mandates the city to install, operate, and maintain full capture systems in its stormwater system to prevent trash from polluting local creeks, rivers, and oceans, while also ensuring regular cleaning of streets and storm drains to meet environmental standards.
A huge thanks to Greg Yeoman, EnviroPod’s Founder and President, who flew in from New Zealand to lead the training, handle the training installation process, and ensure everything for the Project goes smoothly! We were amazed to watch one of the device installations in front of Swing Inn – it only took 57 seconds!' - City of Temecula.
